Independent & Empowered: Women’s Networking Night Recap

Who Run the World?
Last week, I had the honor of meeting realtor and entrepreneur Leslie Hall at an event put on by The Beauty Boost Louisville (you can read about that in the last article!). In recent months, Hall founded a female-based business community, EmpowerHer Connect, specializing in helping like-minded women network and grow. As a woman who loves to connect with other women and wants to see them succeed, of course I had to attend the EmpowerHer Connect women’s networking event last night, Independent & Empowered. And it did not disappoint.
The event was hosted at the Kaden Tower in Louisville, and upon entering I was faced with a table of name tags with colorful sticker additions correlating to different careers! I took both yellow for marketing and social media and pink for fashion, creating and retail. It was lovely to interact with women with different colored stickers, as everyone’s stories were so unique and it was amazing to hear about their passions. The diverse career paths represented simply showed how powerful women are and how an entrepreneurial spirit is common among so many of us.
After this, ladies were provided the opportunity to take the platform and share about themselves and their journey. So many took the mic, and it was beautiful and inspiring to hear about the unique paths each of us were on, yet in some way, there was a common thread among us- our empowerment. There were a few tearful moments, and many encouraging applauds. This was definitely a highlight of the night.
To end it all, we broke off to engage in conversation again, utilizing compliment cards and bingo cards provided at each table. There was also a selfie station where women could be themselves in front of the camera with those that they just met yet felt so connected to through the transparency of empowering stories. I noticed that unlike typical networking, EmpowerHer Connect created connections where yes, some could be future collaborators and partners, but others could simply be mentors, or just a like-minded encouraging woman by your side to say, “you’ve got this, I believe in you.”
Overall, this was such a fun-filled and powerful night of connection, community, and empowerment. And the good news is if you missed this event, there are so many more ways to engage with EmpowerHer Connect on social media and attend future events! I know that I will absolutely be in touch, as EmpowerHer Connect and the team does such a wonderful job providing a networking community for women.
But until then, we are excited to see what else Louisville summers have to offer!
